Learn on Demand Systems has extended its 2019 commitment to reduce its impact on the environment by partnering again with Terrapass.

As the leading provider of carbon offsets, Terrapass works with organizations to help them understand and take responsibility for their climate impact.

In 2019, Learn on Demand Systems purchased credits to offset 233 metric tons of carbon dioxide, one of the key gases that contributes to global warming. In 2020, we offset 302 metric tons, an increase due to our expanded footprint in data centers around the world due to circumstances related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Though we paused our corporate travel in March 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, the significant increase in online learning resulted in our expansion in data centers around the world to support our customers’ needs,” said Corey Hynes, CEO of Learn on Demand Systems. “With the credits purchased through Terrapass, however, we were able to offset that impact and are now two years into being 100% carbon neutral.”

Terrapass invests collected funds in communities across the world, supporting projects focused on reforestation, renewable energy produced by wind power and methane capture at dairy farms, landfills and abandoned coal mines.

“Our mission is to enable the experiential learning and skills validation ecosystem,” said Corey. “The ability to positively impact our environment while supporting our customers in their endeavors helps us expand our impact while continuing to reduce our footprint.”
